ANIMA Korea Tour in September

I'm very excited about the upcoming tour with my quartet. Philipp and I will be traveling to South Korea to present our new CD ANIMA. The fantastic Manuel Weyand (dr) and Sean Pentland (b) will join us in Seoul. Thanks to the great support of the Goethe Institute and and the Federal Foreign Office we could realize this tour!

The new SJO concert season starts next month (Sept 9th). Great artist have been invited to play their music with us. We will start with Hendrika Entzian and Monika Roscher in September and October followed by Jan Schreiner and David Grottschreiber (Nov & Dez). This week my new quartet CD STEFAN KARL SCHMID/ PHILIPP BRÄMSWIG - ANIMA is going to be released on META records. We produced this record at the Deutschlandfunk Studios in Cologne with a fantastic bunch of people. Thank you very much Robert Landfermann, Jonas Burgwinkel, Christian Heck, Christoph Rieseberg, Michael Fossenkemper, Harald Rehmann, Nadine Targiel and Jana Heinlein for your contribution.

Shannon Barnett Quartet Tour

Heiner Schmitz - Sins & Blessings

My new record Stefan Karl Schmid & Leonhard Huhn - SCHMID's HUHN is officially released today on shoebill music, Berlin as 12" LP (180g) including a personal download code + 2 bonus tracks.

I'm very proud of this little piece of art which has been made possible by the wonderful band Leonhard Huhn (as), Stefan Schönegg (b) and Fabian Arends (dr) and all the fantastic work and spirit of the artists around us: Christian Heck (recording & mixing), Michael Fossenkemper (mastering), Nadine Targiel (cover art & photography), Johannes Haage (shoebill music) and Hayden Chisholm (liner notes).
